HomeSafe for Android Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2, 2026
GenesisCipher Labs Private Limited is the data controller. HomeSafe has no account and does not send your records to a GenesisCipher Labs server.
Data handling
| Data | On-device use |
|---|---|
| Location, destinations and routes | Maps, routing, trip progress, arrival and safety information. |
| Saved places and trusted contacts | Remember places and prepare a message you decide whether to send. |
| Trip records, safety reports, chats and travel preferences | History, safety features and personalization. |
| Microphone input and notification settings | Optional speech input and trip reminders. |
This data comes from information you enter or select and from permissions and sensors you enable. It is stored on your device. Speech is handled by your device’s recognition service and may be sent to that provider if it cannot work offline.
The app contacts the following services directly:
| Service | Data and purpose |
|---|---|
| Nominatim, FOSSGIS OSRM, Overpass, OpenStreetMap/OpenFreeMap and Open-Meteo | Your IP address and the search, area, route or weather query needed to provide maps, routing and conditions. |
| ntfy.sh | If you choose live sharing: live location, ETA, distance, safety score, travel mode and destination label on a random link. Anyone with the link can view it. |
| Google Play Billing | Purchase and limited device, app and diagnostic information required by Google’s billing components. GenesisCipher Labs does not receive your card details. |
Data sent to these services is governed by their privacy terms. HomeSafe does not sell personal data and includes no advertising or analytics service of its own.
Retention and control
On-device data remains until you delete it under Settings → Privacy & data or uninstall the app. Local safety reports expire after 90 days. Live sharing stops when you end it or after six hours; ntfy.sh may temporarily cache messages under its own policy. HomeSafe data is excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer.
You can view, export or delete HomeSafe data in the app and revoke permissions in Android Settings. These controls also let you withdraw consent. Shared files and messages must be deleted from the service or recipient to which you sent them.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or obtain your personal data and to complain to a regulator. Email us to exercise any right involving data we can access or to raise a grievance.
HomeSafe is not directed to children under 13. We update this notice when our practices materially change.
